La Petite Grue

Difficulty: Intermediate. This pattern involves basic sweater construction techniques, with some unusual shaping to create the sleeves and the shoulder cutouts.
Pattern inspiration: This top is modeled after a similar one from the Spring/Summer collection of Charlotte Ronson. Bright colors are in for this season, so I chose a bright red in a drapey cotton/viscose blend to make this top flattering and sexy.

SIZE
The top should fit somewhat close to the body. If you have too much ease, the armholes will gape, but then again it shouldn’t be so tight that you have to stuff yourself into it (or maybe you do… how trampy you make it is personal preference). Almost no ease to about 1 inch or so would be perfect.
MATERIALS
Filatura di Crosa Brillante [55% cotton/45% viscose; 159 yd per 50g skein]; color #14; 6 [6, 8, 9, 10] skeins.
A cotton blend with viscose or rayon would be best for this top. Cotton keeps it light enough for summer, and the viscose or rayon adds slinky drape.
